The interior also offers a mosaic of nature conservation areas and picturesque landscapes: from the Natural Park of Sierra Espuña to the El Valle Nature Reserve; from natural sanctuaries of ecological interest like Sierra de la Pila (Fortuna, Abarán, Blanca and Molina) or the Sierra del Carche (Jumilla), to the Revolcadores massif (Moratalla); or beauty spots like the Fuentes del Marqués springs (Caravaca) or the Salto de la Novia (Ojós). Travelling inland, visitors will also discover places of singular beauty such as lakes, reservoirs and water-courses, where they will be able to practise a variety of outdoor activities and sports in resorts fully-equipped with all the necessary services, or allow themselves to be carried away by the lure of routes leading to key natural or cultural locations throughout the region, like the Vía Verde (Green Way), a 48 km-long pathway built on a disused railway, connecting the towns of Baños de Mula and Caravaca de la Cruz.

Murcia Adventure Tourism

Murcia Adventure Tourism
Adventure tourism, the offer of leisure while in contact with nature, is one of the great attractions offered by the Region of Murcia. All along the coast, from Cabo de Palos and Portman to Cartagena or Mazarron, the Natural Park of Calnegre or Cabo Cope, there exist numerous possibilities for going hiking. In the inland areas, the visitor will find a complete array of sports available: hiking, pony-trekking, mountain-biking, photographic routes, historical and archaeological routes, mountaineering, rock-climbing, trekking, rural tourism, rafting. All of this is supported by the existence of a wide network of guest houses, campsites, and country houses located in beauty spots and other delightful settings, either in the heart of the countryside or sheltered amid the quaint, narrow architecture of the inland villages, with their temperate summers and winters, ideal for warming yourself beside a woodfire stove.

Moreover, this offer is nicely rounded off, both on the coast and inland, by every kind of infrastructure which various specialised companies who organise day-long activities which can be enjoyed in the heart of the countryside, on land, at sea or in the air, provide: potholing routes through caves of exceptional interest, horse-riding, rural activities, white-water canoeing, cave-diving, deep-sea diving, paragliding, hang-gliding, distillation of aromatic plants and the extraction of their scents, hand production of cakes and cheeses, thematic routes, camps and many many more. Thus any visitor is certain to find both the place and the activity which best suits what he or she requires. And all of it within easy reach of Murcia.
